George was recently given his Tony nomination for Best Lead Actor in Good Night and Good Luck, which is in being shown at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York. The play has racked up a total of five Tony nominations and has been given rave reviews by viewers and critics.

The actor moved to New York amid the play's Broadway run, after previously living in a country house in France, with his wife Amal and their seven-year-old twins Alexander and Ella. Amal, a humanitarian lawyer, enrolled their kids Alexander and Ella in school in New York when they moved to The Big Apple.

He previously told CBS Mornings that the couple's twins are settling in nicely in NYC. He said, "They have a school that they like, and are having fun at," adding that he and Amal "are having a really great time in life". He added, "They are really curious and funny. Every parent thinks their kids are great - our kids are funny and make us laugh.''

Before their move, George told GQ he thought the change would be exiting for his family and would allow him to spend more time with Alexander and Ella. He said, "That's going to be six months of my life in New York. But again, it's like we're talking about time allotment. I won't do another thing."

He continued, ''I'm going to give myself time with my kids. I really enjoy driving them to school, and my wife and I are having a really wonderful time. So I don't want to lose all of that. But this is an opportunity to do something that I have never done before."

George added, "I've never been on Broadway. So we're still trying to do things and new things and try things, but we're also saying, 'Well, let's also remember that we want to see our life in a kind of nice way too.' A little of both. Everything in moderation, including moderation."

The actor, who recently dyed his signature gray locks brown, also spoke out about the transition in an interview with The New York Times, admitting, “My wife is going to hate it,” adding, “Nothing makes you look older than when a man his age dyes his hair. And my kids? They’re going to laugh at me without mercy.”

The play is a take on the 2005 film Good Night, And Good Luck, which George both directed and acted in. It sees 76-year-old David Strathairn stepping into the role of Edward R. Murrow, a part he originally played in the movie.
