Suns vs Knicks Injury Report: Kevin Durant, Jalen Brunson Status Revealed

On Sunday, the Phoenix Suns will play the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden for their first and only meeting of the season in the Big Apple.

This matchup between these two non-conference opponents will be their second and final confrontation of the regular season. With the final week of the season upon us, the Knicks will do their best to retain the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, while the Suns are two games back of the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference.

This game is pivotal for both teams if they want to finish on the right note as the season winds down. On top of that, the best players from their respective teams are on the injury report: Knicks guard Jalen Brunson and Suns forward Kevin Durant.

Brunson, who has missed the last 15 games for the Knicks, will finally be back on the floor. Brunson has been upgraded to available and will play and start in Sunday's contest.

Durant, on the other hand, will miss his third consecutive game after he suffered an ankle injury on March 30 against the Houston Rockets. Sunday marks a week since Durant suffered the injury.

Durant could be back in the lineup for the Suns' next game on Tuesday against the red-hot Golden State Warriors. The Suns have lost five consecutive games.

They sit with a 35-42 record.

The Knicks have a 49-28 record and a 26-12 record in front of their home fans. They have also won four of their last five games.

New York ranks ninth in the Eastern Conference in offensive boards, pulling down 10.9 per contest, with Karl-Anthony Towns leading the way at 3.0 per game.

Phoenix has struggled away from home, holding a 12-27 road record. The Suns are 16-8 in games where they come out on top in the turnover margin, committing an average of 13.2 turnovers per outing.

Over their last 10 outings, the Knicks have held steady with a 6-4 record. They average 112.3 points per game, 41.4 rebounds, 29.2 assists, 8.9 steals, and 3.9 blocks while shooting a solid 48.2 percent from the floor. Defensively, they've limited opponents to an average of 109.7 points.

Meanwhile, the Suns have hit a rough patch, dropping six of their last 10 contests. During that stretch, they've averaged 112.9 points, 43.3 rebounds, 27.6 assists, 6.2 steals, and 3.5 blocks per game while connecting on 47.2 percent of their field goals. On the defensive end, they've struggled, allowing 119.5 points per game.

The Knicks will look to sweep the Suns in the season series.
