Alex Smith is no longer a member of the Washington Football Team.

The veteran quarterback was expected to be released prior to the draft, and the team made the move official Friday morning, according to Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Now, we’ll all wait and see if Smith decides to sign with another team or if this is the end of the road for his incredible career.

As I’ve said many times before, even if he never plays another snap, he should be proud as all hell of his comeback.

He suffered one of the worst leg injuries the NFL has ever seen back in 2018 against the Texans, and he still managed to fight his way back onto the field.

As a betting man, I’d bet he has a little bit of football left in him. Let’s hope that he does because I don’t want his story to end just yet.
