No casualties from 5-magnitude earthquake in Chongqing

CHONGQING, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- No casualties were reported following a 5-magnitude earthquake in Wulong county in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality Thursday afternoon.

The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers at 5:43 p.m.

More than 30 houses were damaged and one collapsed. Six people were slightly injured, local authorities said Thursday night.

The quake has caused about 6 million yuan (910,000 U.S. dollars) in economic losses.

Mobile phone service was disrupted but restored by 10 p.m.

The scenic area of Wulong Karst in the county, which was listed as a world natural heritage by UNESCO in 2007, has not been affected, according to the authorities.

Some scenes for the Hollywood blockbuster "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" were filmed in the area.
