Jose Mourinho 'will not give extra holiday' to Manchester United's World Cup stars as new season looms
- Manchester United have seven players involved in last two World Cup games
- They will be given three weeks off but are expected to return on August 6
- That is just four days before the Red Devils face Leicester in the Premier League
- It is claimed some of those players could make the bench for curtain-raiser
The seven Manchester United players involved in the last weekend of the World Cup will not be granted an extra-long break before the new season, reports claim.
Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young and Marcus Rashford were all involved in Saturday's third-place play-off between Belgium and England in Saint Petersburg, while Paul Pogba will line up for France in the final against Croatia.
According to The Sun, those players will miss United's upcoming pre-season tour of the United States as anticipated but will not be given any more than three weeks to rest and recuperate.

That means they will be due back on August 6 - four days before the club begin the 2018/19 Premier League season at home to Leicester City.
It is even claimed that some of the aforementioned could be included on the bench for that Friday night curtain-raiser in front of the television cameras at Old Trafford.
United's non-World Cup contingent returned for pre-season training at Carrington last week and are due to fly out to the United States later on Sunday.
They face Club America in Phoenix in the early hours of Friday morning before another friendly with San Jose Earthquakes in Santa Clara and International Champions Cup clashes against AC Milan (Carson), Liverpool (Michigan) and Real Madrid (Miami).
Jose Mourinho will reportedly not give his World Cup stars extra holiday before the new term
United have yet to announce their tour party, but several youngsters are expected to make the trip with David De Gea, Victor Lindelof, Fred, Marcos Rojo and Nemanja Matic also yet to return after their exertions in Russia.
Mourinho's side, runners-up to dominant Manchester City in the top-flight last term and losing FA Cup finalists, conclude their pre-season preparations against reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on August 5.
United have made three additions to their squad during the current transfer window to date, with midfielder Fred - part of the Brazil squad that reached the quarter-finals at the World Cup - joining from Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee of £52million.
Portuguese full back Diego Dalot cost £17.4m from Porto, while they also parted with £1.5m to recruit 35-year-old goalkeeper Lee Grant from relegated Stoke earlier this month.
