Magnitude-2.8 earthquake reported near Summit Mall in south Reno

A magnitude-2.8 earthquake was reported Tuesday night near the Summit shopping center in south Reno, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was recorded just before 7:25 p.m., the agency's initial report states.

Revised coordinates listed on the USGS website put the epicenter just south of the intersection of S. Virginia Street and Mt. Rose Highway.

Dozens of small earthquakes have been reported recently in south Reno.
