Tunis: An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck west of Tunisia on Tuesday.

According to a statement by the National Meteorological Institute of Tunisia, the quake's epicenter located near the border with Algeria, 240 km from the capital Tunis.

There were no reports of damages or casualties caused by the tremor.
