A tsunami could strike the South Sandwich Islands in the Atlantic Ocean after a 7.2 magnitude quake.

The United States Geological Survey said tremors were felt 31 miles northeast of the uninhabited Visokoi Island at the depth of 58 miles at 09:47 GMT.

Aftershocks were reportedly felt in southeastern Argentina and the Falkland Islands.
