Mild 4.2 tremor jolts Rajasthan, no casualties reported

JAIPUR: An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale jolted some parts of Rajasthan on Saturday, officials said.

People rushed out of their houses and offices in panic. The earthquake was felt around 3.21 p.m. and lasted for 15-20 seconds. 

According to Met department officials, the epicentre of the earthquake was near Jodhpur. Tremors were felt mostly in Jodhpur, Pali, Ajmer, Pushkar and Deedwana among other places.

"I felt dizzy and rushed out of my building in the open," said K.C. Joshi, an executive working in a private company. His office is located on the third floor in Jodhpur.

Pushkar resident M.C. Sharma said he saw his window panes shaking for a few seconds.
